So the previous owner replaced the original style key switch with a newer five pin grounding style. The originals look to be about little more expensive at about $32 Canadian so that’s probably why he switched it or he had it on hand, but I can get a package of three on eBay for 75 making them $25 a pop unfortunately I don’t need three lol but I think I’m going to order them anyway. I want to put it back to factory wiring but for now just want to get it back running again. Normally I’m great at taking pictures before I remove anything but when I was playing around in there couple of the terminals come off, kind of a hack job I hate when people do that. Anyway trying to figure out exactly what goes where. Here’s pictures of the factory style key switch and the one with the writing is the grounding style. I know which one is the starter wire obviously and the ground but does the coil wire go to the magneto pin?

I couldn't enlarge the wire diagram enough for mo old eyes but did find one on the web so it looks to me like the engine has battery/points ignition is that right? if that's the case then a Stens PN 430-512 switch is needed and they are a lot less money on Amazon

The battery ignition switch is wired as "B" connects to the battery, "I" connects to the ignition coil, "S" connects to the starter solenoid, "A" is accessories / lights etc. "R" is connected to the Rectifier-voltage reg

Yeah that’s what I need for factory that one comes to about 30 bucks Canadian with delivery etc. so I’ll probably just go ahead and order three of them for 75. Somebody else may need one locally. Just have to figure out the other style for now

So I finally got around to getting the key switch hooked up. Basically made a new wiring harness as well can’t stand when things are cobbled up. Wrapped it at all in this mesh rap got on fleabag. Safeties all work as well. Pictures aren’t great

Thanks Kenny I still have another one to switch over no rush on that one. I will say, you just touch the key and away she goes but I notice under load the governor doesn’t seem to be opening up something else to look into lol.
