Mowing Pasture with the John Deere 40

This is our pasture mowing setup that we use in between grazing's. Its a John Deere 40 with a model 39 sickle mower. Dad adapted some small tires to it in order to raise the cutting height.

Those depth wheels also keep the cow patties out of the blades so they don't clog!

Those cow patties, as most of you know, ya take a metal fence gate and drag it around the field. That’ll spread out the cow patties.

We have a chain harrow that we use to break up the patties.
