I found & bought, for $50 this 1974 MTD 990. The engine has spark but needs valve work as I feel pushing & pulling at the exhaust port. I can feel the valve opening and closing with my finger in the port but it is obviously not sealing. I have ordered a head gasket. Not having it in neutral when turning the engine it tried to pull forward so I hope that indicates that the trans is good and will pull when the engine is running. The gas tank is missing but I have one coming for it.
