My son gave me this Briggs & Stratton engine for the Centaur tractor project.

I managed to find the identification numbers stamped on the side of the flywheel shroud.
Model # 233434
Engine Type # 0139-01
Code # 7511261

Looking on the internet for information, I think this engine was manufactured on Nov. 26,1975 but I haven't been able to find out what horsepower it is and I'm hoping someone can help me with that.

I also need help to find a cover for the points on the side of the block.
It takes the cover with the mounting holes directly across from each other.
If you have one that you want to sell ... please PM me.

This engine has a neat metal housing for the spark plug.

There is a small pin sticking out of the side of the housing and when you push the pin in, it shuts the engine off.
I'm going to keep this spark plug housing and use it as the shutoff switch for the tractor.

Hi jdcrawler as for the points cover I think your going to have to find a salvage engine for one everywhere I looked it says NLA if I remember tomorrow I look to see if the covers off the older model 23 -19-14's will fit

Thank you but I already lined up a cover for this.
