The new gloss paint used on vehicles, what is it called? Pure color, no metallic or metal flake in it. New Toyota, Jeep, Subaru models. Almost looks like play-dough.

Probably water based.

I like the slate grey Toyota had.

Chevy and dodge did this back in the 80s and 90s. All the paint flew off the vehicles.

That was when they first started with base coat/clear coat. The clear peeled off (sun baked) but those vehicles sheet metal held up better than many vehicles much newer
