Saw this at a car lot this morning. Immediately thought of Propane1.
It had dealer plates on it, but it wasn't for sale.

I remember reading street rodder in high school in the 90s. Thinking how cool those customs were with all the billet aluminum, digital dash, tweed and leather interiors, shaving door handles, crazy paint.
That style is so dated now. Cool cars in the era

I was reading the magazines back then too, still have some around here---LOL! I like the "traditional" approach era looking hot rods best but it's still hard to get me to look at hot rods when nice original survivor or restored cars are around. I dig them all actually!

This Model A was a '29-'30, maybe '31. Can't remember for sure. I do know the chrome grill was gone by '32 with the introduction of the "Little Deuce Coupe"!

Nice car and pics, Rick, thanks!

In the fifties it was Schwinn bicycles, Red ball Jets, Hopalong Cassidy, and rolled up pants cuffs. Wasn't old enough to pay attention to cars yet. The only thing I have some recollection of is flasher hubcaps and curb feelers.

All those things are too cool! I've been meaning to buy a couple sets of the "Blue dot" reflectors but never got around to it yet.

Chris you were a late bloomer---LOL! I became a car freak when when I saw the movie "Thunder Road" at my grandparents house in Georgia. The movie came out in '58 I believe but it was 1963 when I saw it. I was 7. Couple days later, during that southern visit we were browsing in a general store up the street a couple blocks, and there was a model car of a 1950 Ford. I begged one of my sisters to buy it for me and she did! I slopped glue all over it but got it built! They made me do it outside fortunately.

Down south was the only place I saw the chrome headlight shields. Never saw them up here. I also remember seeing '57 Fords with a 4 headlight conversion. I later found out it was a kit from J.C. Whitney.

Anybody remember the blue reflectors in the middle of the tail lights
My 30 DeSoto had a broken tail light lens with a blue dot in the center. First time I'd seen one. Illegal in a lot of states.

I believe but it was 1963 when I saw it.
By that time I was 13 and building model cars but the flasher hubcaps and curb feelers were a thing of the past by then. My Dad bought a new 63 Dodge Dart and I thought it was so ugly. It was a good car, just ugly. Still not fond of the looks. 63 1/2 Ford Galaxy was the car I would have died for. Neighbor had one and I couldn't keep my eyes off it. His was red with a white top.
