Oil pan install

I been in process of changing oil pan to shallower pan as too much road rash on current pan. I had installed engine a bit low initially. What a freakin' process. This has been going on for a month as each step found me having to order another part. Had to cut engine mounts and raise engine, raise transmission crossmember. Install new pan twice!, forgot to torque oil pump first time. Likely have to change pinion angle a degree or two as well.
Front clip only takes 20 minutes to remove, got #1 son to weld engine mounts, he's much better welder than myself. Installing Noico sound deadener as well to try and eliminate the "tin can" sound of a old truck.

Made headliner today, found some 4'x8' sheets of plastic at the dumpster and vinyl was 1/2 price at fabric store. Also made panel for behind the seats. Have to cover all the sound deadening material I just installed

Rear panel is tight. Headliner going to be a bear!! Laying some rubber mat was a pain. It’s a bit thick and unruly

2 hours to install the headliners 24 clips. 3rd headliner I'v ever done, its a quite miserable task working overhead in such a small space. A rotisserie would be the ticket:thumbs: First one I did was my '68 Firebird, how someone could install those on a regular basis o_O
Had to find bolt holes in floor through the new matting,,,so used my torch to heat up a nail red hot and send it through bolt holes from underneath. Slick.

Great job Jazz, nice to see the old Binder getting some love! I need to do a headiner, floormat and some sound deadener in the '55 too. That headliner was held in with glue and a rubber gasket like a windshield gasket. I'll probably order one from LMC, they're only about 50 bucks for the headliner and gasket. I've not heard of "Noico" sound deadener. Is it as expensive as "Fat Mat" and the like? I have read that the hot poker of some kind will also work with carpet since that is a form of plastic but I haven't tried it yet. Hopefully soon on another truck project.

Thanks for the update!

Noico is lowest priced sound deadener. 36 (80mm thick)square feet did rear of cab, floor and firewall. $50 USD
My aftermarket headliner was cardboard fibre. Looks good for a few years until it distorts from weather. Upholstery shops carry a moisture resistant product for making headliners. I’d suggest that or my method.
If you have your old headliner use as pattern.

I will look up Noico, thanks. My original headliner is long gone. The gasket is still there and hard as a rock. The LMC ones are plastic and include the gasket so I just as well go that route. The gasket alone is only a couple bucks cheaper. At least I would get a pattern if I want a different material.
