Oregon is now looking at laws to tax off-road diesel and to control Ag mainly. Since most Ag machines do not have emissions, the proposed taxes to control the diesel footprint could go into effect when made law.

Machines will not be allowed to use On-Road diesel going forwards.

Should this take effect, expect many other states to follow in like manner.

I googled about this to fact check. I can’t find any reference to it other than they tried to impose a tax on dyed fuel in 2013 but it was shot down! So yeah maybe it’s coming around again.

I know Oregon has a proposal to tax electric vehicles by the mile driven since they don’t use gasoline

Maybe some truth in it I don't know but there's some whacky information out there..
So nobody poked around to discover the truth yet? Yes, the far-left has dug in to halt diesel. If it can happen in Oregon, it can happen in your state too.

The Epoch Times is spot on.

Here it is. March 2021 bill, as it raises it's head to work towards law.

Another proposal has appeared in the form of a major amendment to an otherwise unremarkable bill, House Bill 2674. Using what’s known as a “gut-and-stuff” amendment to completely replace the bill’s contents, state Rep. Rob Nosse, D-Portland, is proposing an array of new taxes on logging, construction and farming equipment, along with the “off-road” diesel they use. The money from the tax would be used to help swap out older diesel engines with cleaner-running models, Nosse says.

The bill to phase out diesel sales in the state was introduced by state Rep. Karin Power, D-Milwaukie, who played a leading role in the cap-and-trade fights in recent years. But the bill is the brainchild of Keith Wilson, president of Portland-based trucking company Titan Freight Systems.

[ yes, follow the money. Titan is an EV trucking maker.]

Under HB 3305, sales of petroleum diesel would be phased out by industry and geographic region over the course of six years. Beginning in 2023, government fleets and government contractors in the tri-county Portland region wouldn’t be allowed to use the fuel. The next year, diesel sales would end for commercial truckers in the region, followed by other consumers in 2025.

If people would read the entire article per the link, it posses a THREAT to those with current vintage machines. If it can happen in Oregon, it can happen in your state too ! ! !

We are already seeing $6 to nearly $9 for a gallon of milk. Eggs went crazy too into the $8 per dozen realm. Diesel moves America. No diesel for trucking limits how far the supply chain could deliver to your area. Non-diesel supply chain would jump the cost of goods delivery by 44%. And us as consumers would cover those costs.

In Iowa road diesel is clear and taxed the road use tax where Ag diesel is red and cheaper. Why would Ag machines want to use the higher priced fuel to start with ?
