Part number for belt, JD 140 H3

JD parts show 4 different part numbers for that belt. You may need to talk to a JD parts guy to find the right one. May need to know serial number of tracking and model number of the deck you have.

So I bought this belt to use for now. No stock at John Deere. From what I can see JD belt is 86.39” long and .560” wide. 9/16 I believe.
One I bought is 86 long and 1/2 wide. Old one is worn smaller than the new one, so should work. If not I’ll order one from John Deere.

Noel, JD uses a special belt on everything they build. The angle of the "V" is different than any stock belt you can buy. You can run an aftermarket belt, but everytime I've tried it, the belt wears out pretty quickly for me.

Cut grass and hay, that the farmer missed with his big machine, today for 4 hours. Belt still looks ok. But I know what you mean. 48 year old pulleys are worn some to, I bet. Any way, workin good for now.
