We only got about 2" of snow but as usual with the winds we had it plied it up in front of the shop door, so I got the Country Squire out with the snowpusher and pushed it out of the way went pretty good it was cold though 0*F I had good clothes on except for gloves started out with insulated gloves hands started getting cold instead od stopping and going into the shop for better mitts I kept on until they were really cold finally got the chopper Mitts my hands warmed some but my left thumb was so cold it started to really hurt. Was just about finished when the CS engine started to die like it was out of gas I knew it wasn't stepped on the clutch it caught up and ran but when it got to a hard push did the same so I got it back in the shop pulled the throttle back to idle and it stopped. Got the PK out to finish up the plowing it worked good, its nice to have hydraulic angling I haven't put the chains on it yet and it did surprisingly good with out them.
Back in the shop I checked on the CS it started up ran perfect idled down and ran until I turn the switch off, checked the gas tank just to be sure it was a 1/3 full but topped it off checked the sediment bowl it had something funny looking at the top so I removed it and it turns out that the bowl gasket had swelled up looked like a worm, I had made a gasket out of some rubber gasket material that said it was good for gas but I'm thinking not for ethanol. Got a net gasket this time one made for the bowl reinstalled all,. I'm wondering if the carb iced up and that was the problem?

Could be Gary, but it sounds like you where out long enough so the carb was warm. To me any way, the carb frosts up shortly after start up, say a couple of minutes. maybe build a heat stove around the carb and try that. My Ferguson tractor frosts up most times I use it. Like when I'm sawing wood, she will start to act up a few minutes after you get going at the wood and you'll wonder whats wrong. Then remember, shes just frosted up, and sure enough after a few more minutes sawing she clears up.

I had one that would frost up and ended up making a shield that diverted some of the cooling air from the engine over the carb and that ended it. Now that I think about it I think it was a Simplicity also.
Just read this on KELO land news:
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — There is an increasing potential for accumulating snow in parts of the northern Plains late Thursday and into Friday.
