Not going to be a lot done, I don’t think. Son was just in one of his moods to change things around. He’d like to get it yard driveable. No brakes on it and hard to get some of those parts I guess. First time up on hoist. So he can get a much better look at it.
Never seen rear leaf springs wrapped before with grease nipples. Any body ever seen that.

Such a cool old Studebaker, Noel! That's a neat set up on those leaf springs. I bet the ride was nicer due to that modification! Can you tell if it is a home-made setup, or does it look like some kind of factory or aftermarket produced item?

Back in the '70's and 80's leaf springs were popular in dirt track racing. using a multi-leaf spring could artificially increase the spring rate when they got full of dirt. We would clean them well disassembled, grease them up and after being installed we would wrap them with plumbers insulation, taping them up well. It would last a month or so depending on damage and how many nights a week we would race.

I thought maybe you were out cruising the Rambler, but it's good to see this car getting some attention!

No cruising around here Doug. At $2.25 a litre for high test fuel it’s pretty well takes the fun away.
well that wrap around the leaf springs is quite an idea. Looks factory to me. But I don’t know for sure. The fellas that worked on that kind of car years ago around here are mostly all dead, sadly. So nobody to ask.
Ahhh, I do know somebody. He’s around the 90 plus years old and still takes three or four cars to shows. And he’s a studebaker, rambler fan. Show coming up in two weeks. So if I see him I’ll ask him.
