Question for any electric tractor guys.

This electronic device was hooked up in series with the timer and battery charger on an Elec-Trak E12s.
Anyone know what it is?

Is it a relay that drops the charger out when the timer is done?

After checking with an Elec-Trak forum, I was told that it is " an intelligent charge circuit that replaces the timer, and turns the charger on and off depending on voltage level".
Sounds a lot like the modern 36 volt charger/maintainer that I replaced the onboard charger with.
