The metal pan seat on the Country Squire is in good shape but it is uncomfortably cold in the winter when plowing snow has one of the padded slip on draw strip seat cover but this pan is smaller than the average tractor seat so it fit sloppy. I had a good Snapper seat laying ing the shop so thought I'd try it, got it installed after several tries and its going to work good ( I think) has some padding for a bit better ride and will be much warmer in the winter

Now that should be much better looks padded well. In your second pic what model is the Sears in the back. Looks like SS14 or 15. I have a SS15 it’s my most dependable tractor and works hard when needed.

Hi Jim its was a S12 that I repowered with a Tec OH160, the 15 hp tec had been overhauled but was missing the SSI so I installed a new aftermarket ignition system from Overnight Solutions excellent ignition system that engine starts almost instantly. My first GT was a Suburban S10 that I converted to a 12 its my got yard tractors Suburbans are great tractors

Did the overnight solutions kit on a sear as well. It works amazing. I will say though their customer service and shipping speed was far from overnight. Waited almost 3 months. No returning calls. When they did they blew me off saying one excuse after another. I was about ready to give up when boom it showed up on my door step

The only electronic conversion I’ve done was on my MTD 990 16hp Briggs. I had a points push rod bent and damaged the cam lobe. I installed the Nova II module with good results.

Well I mowed with the replacement seat put about 1.3 on it the seat is ok the front is/was to low and I had a tendency to slide forward and the got old so after I finished mowing I added a spacer under the front 2 mount bolt that brought the front up to the tractor out and drove around and that improved it, but if I stay with that seat I'll add more spacer say another 1/4 to 3/8" . I also decided to try another different seat to see how it would work just did a short test drive and it maybe good to go with here's some pictures of that seat

Point's are rusty! Got a new set today. Just haven't had time to mess with it yet.
The reason I converted mine was a bent points push rod. I kept getting a very weak spark no matter what I did to it. I found out the push rod damaged the cam shaft lobe so that was an easy fix for me. Once I installed the Nova II I checked for a spark before trying to start it and it was a bright blue with a good crackling sound. It was hard to believe something that easy would make such a difference.
