Picked this up in the middle of February. It would run but was very boggy on startup. I was thinking carb issues.

I did a compression check and got 65 lbs. cold and 75 lbs hot.

I pulled the cylinder and found the bore in good shape. When I inspected the ring, it felt weak and after squaring it up in the bore it had .060" end gap.

I ordered a new ring, gasket, and rubber mounts for it and they arrived today. Check the fit of the new ring it has way more tension and the end gap is .014". Hope this will get this saw running well again.

The parts arrived last week, and I finished assembling the saw today. Got it fired up and the initial carb adjustment. It runs a lot better now and starts easier. The chain was absolutely worn out on the drivers, so I borrowed a bar and chain off my brothers Sachs Dolmar 115 and cut some rounds. It still needs some fine tuning, but it should be a good back up saw to the Stihl 026. I'll get some pics and video soon.
