This ST16 is one of the nicer Suburbans out of the two loads that I drug home that had sat in a swampy pasture.
These tractors had been there several years.
This one isn't real bad off.
Its one that I will drag inside and see how bad off it is.

I have a SS 12 Simular to the blue one behind it. Has a seized engine. FO Used a GM convertable top pump and cylinders to run a 3pt hitch.

:D Al
I have a SS14 that is rougher.
They just beat and tore this poor chassis to pieces.
A shame too.
The cast iron Briggs Suburban 14 and 15 were only built in 71 and 72.
They used a different front frame for the Briggs and a hood grill spacer.
This is a early chassis with medal dash. Mid 71 Sears dashes went fiberglass.
I do have enough SS14 parts to build a couple of good ones.
I plan to do the that when I find my roundtoit.

I wish my little sears had floor boards like these ones do. That thing is a chore to climb on and off of!
What model do you have ?
I much prefer the models without running boards for easy on and off and more leg room.
My favorite Roper Suburbans are the 66 Suburbans and the standard (not SS) 67 and 68 Suburban models.

St10 I believe 76?

Looks like this one

I have a hard time getting off and on without stepping on the deck. Plus I like to be able to move my knee around. Leaving it in one place for too long hurts

That is the redesigned Custom series that started in 73.
I agree any foot dragger tractor is a pain with a deck on it.
I love my early Simplicity and Allis tractors but I hate running a deck on them for that reason.

My '73 ST16. I really like the tractor. Bought it at the UUUUge Aumann Thanksgiving Consignment Auction @ Taylorville, IL several years back.

Hate to break it to you, but that's not a '73, looks like a '75 model.
73 would have a 2 spoke steering wheel and the gas tank is under the hood.
75 would have the 3 spoke steering wheel and it was only year for the metal gas tank under seat, 76 went to a plastic tank.

Good info to know! Mine is a 3 spoke, no fuel tank though.
