Hi a couple of years ago I removed a worn out Tecumseh OH160 from a ST16 and installed a B&S opposed 18 HP was very pleased with it and how it ran but the engine had lots & lots of hours on it and it used alot of oil so this winter I overhauled the B&S and reinstalled it in the tractor, had been using 2 3/4" pipe mufflers but wanted to try and fabricate a single muffler so this week I got busy and built a muffler and it looks good and I like how it sounds. Used of 2.5" tube (and old drive shaft tube) 15" long cuts 3 holes in it 2 for tubes from the engine and one outlet, used 3/4" pipe for the tubes from the engine into the muffler drilled 20 1/4" holes in the inlet pipes used some 1" EMT also drilled 20 holes 1/4" & 9/32" welded the pipe / tubes into the 2.5" round then welded a couple of end caps on installed it on the engine to see / hear how it preformed I liked it so its in the paint room now.

Looks good. We gotta make do when working with these older tractors. Did you use any kind of baffle inside..?

also did you extend your hood..?

Hi 4getgto, yes on the hood extension the black area/stripe is the extension (2") and no baffle in the muffler just have the inlet pipes all the way in with holes drilled in them and same for outlet
