Had another 1655 delivered today.

Little rough but it actually drives and cuts grass rear discharge deck like I wanted it to try. Tires are fairly new and came with a set of wheel weights, it’s not bad for 500 bucks Canadian. Has the rare front PTO guard too lol. Little damaged but there, more to follow later.

I think this will be the one that I’ll strip down repaint/restore. I cut a couple of strips with it yesterday before it ate the old dried out Hydro belts LOL, no big deal needs a fuel tank in a bad way hopefully I can find one. Just what I needed to do...drag more stuff home lol. I know he paid quite a bit for the two new rear tires and the rear wheel weights fetch up to $200 around here so I’m quite comfortable with a $500 price. The deck is in surprisingly good shape and has been switched over to V belts with the centre blade slightly shortened doesn’t seem to leave any strips but I’ll look at that more over the winter.

IMO it's worth way more than 500$ !

If you remove the front pulley guard I would appreciate some pictures, on my 1655 only the small tabs behind the bolts are left ): I'm planning on making a "copy" out of steel for my tractor.

Anyone has a 3D scanner and printer to make copies of this guard? :) I don't think it would be strong enough /:

Yeah I feel I did good. He said he paid 400 for the tires alone lol. I'll be switching the fronts out so they match though. The wiring has been hacked as in by passed switches but i'll be making a new harness anyway.

3D printed would be fine I'd say, it wouldn't have the orange peel ripple effect on the surface but most wouldn't notice. Most times people removed them to clear out grass or replace the belts & never put them back on.

I put 2 new hydro drive belts on it today (the old ones were rotted & worn. It's been sitting for a bit) but the hydros are really slow. The oil level is good, have to do some investigating here. My other 1655 is a lot quicker. Haven't had much time with it yet. Any hints?

Thanks Noel, I'll cope lol. 4 days off in the morning, I'll soon get a look at it. I know people always use trans fluid in them, but do many use actual tractor hydraulic 15? I would obviously doing a complete drain & flush when I tear it down but I was going to run it for the summer to work out any bugs but if it's contaminated it's gotta go now.

I changed the transmission fluid and filter works great now as far as I can tell. Hydraulics are a lot faster and stronger. Fluid was pretty pink even had a little bit of water drain on the bottom first so she was definitely absorbing moisture. I’ll play around with it for the summer then I’ll replace a leaking axle seal and maybe do another oil change again when I do the rebuild.
