Seized Hydraulic Relief valve

Is that what is referred to as compression valve on Tecumseh 12 hp? I was told mine is stuck which is why its hard starting without a big amp battery.

No the relief valves on the hydrostatic rear ends on cub cadets

OHV? Reset the valve gap and it'll start easier.
I don't know about that.
I have a great running OH160 that is a bear to start.
If it will turn a full revolution it will fire right up.
Over the last few years. I have tried different starters and adjusted the valves numerous times even trying different tips and tricks. Its still a bear to start.

Sounds like compression release on the camshaft is bad

But he kinda right too in that situation I always start with valve lash if that doesn't do it I go to the acr on the cam
I agree always check the easiest first and work your way up.
But I have found 95 percent of the time it's not the valves on these engines.
It's usually a compression release issue.
Besides valves always also check the starter, grounds and other connections.
