Side mission thought

Hello all,

Still working on restoration of my '69 SS12, but had an odd thought today. My 2005 Craftsman DGS 6500 came with a sleeve hitch on it, I've been wanting to remove it since I only cut grass with it. Since I have the SS tore apart, I can't imagine it would take much to modify the new hitch to the old tractor. May have to drill a few holes and fabricate a few brackets, but I don't think it's out of the question.

Thanks,

Sounds like a great idea to me! I need to build a couple of sleeve hitches but getting to it is another story! Post how you do it Bobcat!

It looks factory to me. What's modified?
I had to weld some flat bar on the inside rails to make it "skinnier" to fit into the lower frame pins, the newer craftsman have a wider frame. I only had 1/4" stock so I welded 2 pieces together for each side making 1/2" thick bar. I still have to pull it together some when installing as it is still a hair wide.
Then I welded a piece of angle on each side for lift arms to connect to.
