Hehe. 7 years ago today at my sons place. Clearing the 4’ to 6’ drifts in his 800’ long driveway with a LGT165 Ford, but had a 12 hp kohler k301 in it instead of the 16 hp k341. Poor tractor had a lot battle scars and dents and bends after that winter.

4'-6' drifts---800' long............Yep 7 years in the past is a good place for it!! o_O

It's amazing that poor tractor survived to work another day after tackling that mess.

Well it’s had a hard life since we got it Chris. This will be the fourth engine. And it doesn’t get used a lot. Great tractor for garden work. But, the linkage under the tractor limits it’s ground clearance. For some garden work. Some nice to use. And has hydrualic lift. If I figured I’d never use the mowing deck or snow blower, i would take the lift linkage off under it and only use it for garden work. That’s what I would do. But it’s main purpose is snow clearing, at the moment.

That was an issue with me on the one I had. Not much ground clearance!

Should put it on Doug. You’d have year round fun then. Hehe

You have had that Ford for a lot of years, and with that kind of stress put on it, I imagine 4 engines is not unrealistic! I would think, but could be way off base, that snow blowing/ casting/ throwing is probably about the hardest load that a garden tractor can get put on it! I understand anything ground engaging is a lot of stress, but the weather conditions should be better when doing that.

Oh and no thanks on trying the snowblower on the MF12G! I got so damm mad just using the little walk behind on the patio a couple weeks ago that it doesn't look like any fun to me on a larger scale! Long as I have the room for the piles, I'll push. I still remember the days when I had a pretty big walk behind too. Never had a bit of fun doing that! The engine off that big beast went where it belonged in the first place---on a tractor---LOL!

Ya it’s going Gary. The stuff on the side of the driveway is still about three feet. That’s where I throw most of the snow to. But it’s all trees there. Out on the lawn is down to one or two feet. Not much frost this year. I didn’t have the troubles I normally have. Was 10C here today with sun. So about the same temperature as you. No wind. Be a while yet before garden work happens. Maybe the first or second week of May. Maybe. You doing a garden this year ? I’m cutting down this year on the potatoes. About 1/2 I’d say.
Nice to have a chat.
