My buddy rented a shop and the previous renter left a broken propane CAT tow master; he fixed it up and started using it. After seeing what he does with his, it’s absolutely one of those tools that you didn’t know how much you needed, until you had it.
I can tell you that we have an antique Hyster at work that we can't kill! It looks a lot like that one. That little gas 4 banger starts great and the hydraulics leak but keep on working. It gets the crap beat out of it daily moving loaded roll-off containers.
Oh dear, Jim must know that a boat is just a hole in the water to pour money into, lol. A lift, however....that's a necessity! Make him another offer and sell the boat elsewhere to pay for it. Two things on my bucket list are a lift and a nice back hoe, right after a winning lottery ticket!
Just make sure you block it once loaded.
One of our window lickers tried delivering forklift. He got half mile before it crashed through the doors of trailer landing on the road. It was a rental unit
Just out of curiosity, what would it be worth.? I have no idea. Never had one, use to work on the odd one that was propane powered. But that's years ago.
Oh my that brings back memories. I welded up many, many of those frames, carriages and uprights.
That is an old H20 or H30 unit. That looks to be from the 1970's. Those frames were small enough that we rolled them around on the floor to weld them. You could have them half done in the time it took to hang them in a weld out fixture. I was a lot stronger and dumber back then! Maybe just stronger.
They were quite capable units for their size. Back then Hyster produced the "Cadillac" of the lift truck industry. Rick
