The village is gradually putting in and replacing sidewalks. Standing in the way of progress was a hard maple in front of my house.
It was dead center of where the sidewalk is going. Nice tree just starting to get some height to it, about 14" in diameter at the base.
On Wednesday they took it down. I got the trunk loaded into my trailer to be given to Edy's nephew who into cutting and drying wood for his projects.
'14"x6'=about 275 lbs. wet/green. About an hour later the guy showed up to grind the stump/roots.
After he left I went out and raked the grindings and dirt into the hole and then got the 782 cub cadet and roller out and flattened it. About the time I finished the crew came back to finish what I had just done. They were happy because the boss had told them they could quit for the day when they finished my place!
They were going home early with pay, and I got some seat time! WIN- WIN.
