Cast iron support for Massey 8 steering gear broke on me, got a nascar tractor now... steering turns either way, but will stop at straight and skip teeth. With some persuasion I can get the steering to go the other way, but then it’s rinse and repeat.

Any good ideas where to find parts?

Plan a is getting a welder/drinkin buddy to weld it up for me, done work for me in the past...

I’ll add pics of damage once inside, phone near dead and burning data

Should be used parts around or weld it up and file out what you need. All ready broke. So ya can’t hurt nuthin, by tryin.

I tried to rig it up, seems ok ish... nobody will be able to steal it in current rigged state lol

Shimmed the living bejubus on shaft that runs to front axle/“steering plate” from gear and “crown” if you understand what I mean

Get someone to braze 8t up and grind the tooth shape back into it. It'll last a long time. It takes a lot of preheating and slow cooling while peening it to stress relieve it as it cools.

How about JB welding it? Not allowed to use cutting torch or welder at home

I thought it was something like the insurance company wouldn't let you have one at home. I've heard of others tell me those kind of stories.
