I bet that’s worth a lot. I’ve had two bugs they are so much fun to drive except in the winter. My first was a 1964 Empi equipped. I never knew what I had until way after I sold it. My second was a newer automatic stick shift. I rebuilt both engines and we both drove them for many years. Once you get all the tins off you can pick them up and put them on your bench to rebuild.

My first one was a 66 not a 64. It had walnut wood dash trim, Hurst quick shifter pattern, brake air scoops behind the rear glass area, traces of Empi decals and the 1600 cc engine. It was a rust bucket but would scream. When I sold it you could look down at the floor boards and watch the road go by. The guy that bought it was going to make a dune buggy with it.

I don’t know Stew. It should have I guess, could have been converted. The fella was in a rush to get to an appointment. So I only had a minutes chat with him. I would of liked to have a half hour chat.
I think 1966 was the last of the 6 volts, not sure on that, my 67 was 12 volts.
