That SRT4 couldn't have been stock....?
it wasn’t.
I drove it off the show room floor brand new in 2003. Drove it 5,000 miles then the fun began.
Bigger turbo, better manifold, bigger injectors, bigger intercooler, head work, forged flat top pistons, forged rods, exhaust and a slew of other things….it was an absolute monster.
I was 19 when I bought that car. I had just started at the mine and was pouring money into it.
On street tires 1st, and 2nd were half throttle or you’d just blow the tires off. Roll into 3rd you could finally go full throttle.
I crashed it over a 100mph on a back road. It was not fun. Somehow I walked away without a mark.
Fastest srt4 was built by Darrell cox and would do a 9 something second pass. He was shooting for 8s but not sure if he ever made it. I stopped following that in around 2008.
The white car was also pretty built. DOHC turbo motor. Caged and the suspension was setup for auto cross. Never took it to the strip. It wasn’t built for speed. 3.94 final drive and a small turbo. It was built to make power quick and it would for sure!
Black car was also an 04 i bought new and drove to work because the srt wasn’t completely street able anymore.
