I own a Honda EV4010 generator, those were made to be installed in RVs therefore there is no providing for a battery. I will use my tractor for this purpose therefore I added a connector for this. Again, I avoided drilling in the frame and attached a bracket to the existing bolts of the starter relay.

The connectors are small 50 amps Anderson type (same as forklifts) and I used 8ga wire. This is enough for my generator, I tested it with a 3m (10ft) 8ga wire between the 2 and the generator started without problem. The positive comes from the relay's input (battery cable) and the positive is on the upper bolt of the bracket (the frame) since the main battery negative is grounded straight to this frame.

Where will it or the tractor be when you need it ?

Both the tractor and the generator are always in my garage close to each other and I don't mind having to move the tractor to the generator during power outrages. I also can move the generator as the frame I built was made for this and I will probably make it compatible with Cat 0 3 points hitch to make it even easier.

If I would need the generator and the tractor at the same time (ie long outrage) I have enough cars that I can park one beside the generator and/or take the battery out of for this purpose. The goal is to avoid having yet another battery that needs replacement every X years for a generator that in theory I rarely need

Nice upgrade.
I did the poor man's version to jump the snow eater with the cab on. (Have to remove cab to get to battery)
