Had dad’s 1968 snowblower out today for its once a year run. Changed the oil too. Been about 30 years since it seen active duty from my father. He bought it in 1969.

That's a pretty cool machine to have from Dad! Looks like he added to it for deeper snow. It that a 10 HP Tecumseh? Thanks for the pics, Noel!

He and I did the modification for the deep snow. It’s a 8 Tecumseh and a 26” cut. What year is your older snow blower Doug.

Noel
That Tec looks pretty similar to a 10 HP that I took off of a monstrosity snowblower I used to have. I think it was 32". That engine is in my MF8E now. I don't know the year of that 24" one. I bought it on July 4th last year, and no history with it. Sticker graphics and being Western Auto makes me think mid 70's.

That was very cool adding that electric start for your Dad, Noel, so he could still go do snow removal! Even though it is a 115 volt, I sure appreciated having that electric start on the MF8E. Back in late winter/spring 2011 I was recovering from a bout with cancer and didn't have the strength for the rope pull yet. Still had to move snow though! Was able to get the job done! It's been a great engine but is starting to use a bit of oil now. No smoke, just have to add now and then between oil changes.
