70s probably. He said he has no plans of ever selling this truck.Hate to see bumps like that on a nice survivor automobile.
Is the guy getting up in age?
The dent is fixed, and ready for paint. It was tight, but it came out. The paint won’t be a problem. The color just needs to be blended in, so even if it’s not a perfect match, it won’t be noticeable. The stripe is a bit of a problem though. This fender was painted before, and instead of taking the stripe off and doing it right, they just taped it and painted up to it on both sides. We can’t really peel it off, so we will have to put the new one over it.That's a nasty spot too.. But the dent probably will be the easy part..
The part that would scare me is the matching of
40-50 year old 2 tone paint with pin striping .
Pretty truck though....
I never knew that. I saw R10 on the tag on the key and had to look it up to see what the difference was. I guess the big difference was in 87, they switched from carburetors to TBI. That, along with the new models coming out is why they changed it. I agree it would have made more sense to leave it alone though.I never understood why they changed the model designation on the old body style when they came out with the (then) new one and moved the old C/K to the new one. It would have been more sense to leave well enough alone and use the new designation on the new series of truck
Will do. It should be done tomorrow. I’ll try to get a better picture of it outside if it’s not raining.Very nice truck, Nick! Hope you post a pic of the finished product! To be in that nice of shape the owner must take immaculate care of it!
I dig the topper too!

I cut my painting teeth on lacquer and enamel. I still really like enamel. Just can't cozy up to these new paints that go on like texturing and then have to apply clear coat.1986, the paint I used isnt even sold anymore I don't think
