‘41 Chev coupe

I agree. Nothing wrong with inline 6s at all. Except they lasted too long so the car companies quit making them. I have a truck myself with a slant 6 in it. Ain't getting rid of it and ain't V8 swapping it.
Cummins and more still make inline 6s even today.
.
But I DON'T want to see you ruin that car with anything Toyota

Ive had a couple ford 300,,good engine but fuel sucking pigs,,slant 6 is ok but still a slug compared Toyota 1800GT-T. Owned one some years back and would fit just fine with performance unlike any inline 6 on this side of the pond.

That’s going to make life interesting.
It’s the reason i made a second trip to Iowa last summer ,,i could drive the 1200 miles faster than I could fit that dash into a chev…the original dash i fetched in Iowa,,its 8” narrower than the Plymouth dash..
Now that the frame is repaired i have to repair gussets in floor of cab where they fasten to frame mounts…last night was my first time under the car…common area of rot on chevs of this era…

That’s a prize worth pursuing especially with your project. Is it the same year?
Yes,,,the cab i bought was supposed to be ‘41…so i went to Iowa and bought ‘41 parts..learned later my cab is a ‘48 and will take some serious modification to the cowl as its a one off year…this one im picking up is a ‘48…generally cheaper to buy a whole parts car and sell off what i dont need..my last project bought 3 trucks for $1400 and sold 4x that in parts

Yep that grill says 1948. Same grill as a 1947, but for 1948 they added the vertical center piece. Just a bolt on.

Started sorting out parts the other night after removing frame
Seems one of the rear fender is not 40’s Chev,, appears to be late ‘30’s
