During my senior year in high school, the superintendent bought one of those, 427, 4speed, red with black vinyl top. Every guy in school was drooling over that car.

A local drag racer had a'69 SS 427 4 speed Impala Convertible for his street car. Loved that thing!
In 1973 while in High School I got a job at a race car shop. This '69 Impala was one of the first cars I got to work on. It had a ZL-1 all aluminum 427. It was bad fast back in the days when dirt cars were still built pretty heavy.
