Are you sure the bill your paying isn't for the vacant house down the road? Not sure of gallons per month, but our water bill is somewhere between $28 to $35/month.

I like it! Plenty of storage, plus I wouldn't have to scoot my coffee table closer to recliner to actually use it.You get a great deal on water service too, Daniel!
Had another honey doo happen yesterday after noon and today after errands in town. We went into town yesterday so Loree could buy this 100 lb coffee table from a friend. Took the 2 wheel dolly. Pulled it up the steps into the house but didn't want to start on it. Got going on that thing about 12:30. It was new in the box but her friend is moving and didn't want to attempt to put it together.
Some assembly required---LOL!

I think it is kind of ugly but she wanted it to make it easier to use her laptop sitting on the couch.

My well played out years ago, so had to get on city water. Not having to use city sewer keeps my bill low.I think they pay quarterly around here but Daniels water bill doesn't sound horrible. I have a well so I don't know exactly what the going rates are but I have heard in the $100-$250 quarterly range. Obviously that's all dependent. But I do know that wells aren't free either.
Our last two bill were right at 3000 gallons as bill was $32.13. Very happy with that. We are on the end of a mile and 1/4 line so the line don't get refreshed every month. About once a year they stop by and will flush the line. That sounds pretty close to what we are spending.
$250 bucks worth of unique, Chris---LOL! 350 new. This thing is new but the box had been opened. Thankfully nothing was lost. I much prefer sitting at a desk to be on a computer. I'm not real big on laptops. I have a couple old ones in the shop and take one when we go out of town sometimes. I can't do that finger pad thing so I hook a mouse to them.Well for whatever it's worth I think your wife is onto something and you have to admit it is unique.
For some damm reason I can't edit my above post Daniel so I will just add another---LOL!I like it! Plenty of storage, plus I wouldn't have to scoot my coffee table closer to recliner to actually use it.
Daniel and John both have reasonable rates, Bill! My well will only cost electricity as I ain't going to put any improvements into it. I have a spare pump if that 30+ year old Craftsman gives out! If the pressure tank gives out the pump will get run harder. If the foot valve quits, I'll plumb the pump to prime with a hose from the house water. Never going to do a foot valve again! That sucked and I was a lot younger!I think they pay quarterly around here but Daniels water bill doesn't sound horrible. We don't have sewer yet either. The sanitary district is trying to shove a pressurized sewer system down our throats and they are probably going to succeed. Reasons I don't like it are 2 big ones. I retired from a wastewater plant 2 years ago. I know the quality of pumps that a entity gets with the low bid system. The pump and tank they install will become the financial responsibility of the landowner. Then they require the septic tank to be pumped, crushed and filled. I would prefer a valving system to use it for a backup when the cheap@$$ pump fails! Sorry about the rant!My well played out years ago, so had to get on city water. You are getting a great deal Rog! I'm sure if we used system water for outside purposes it would be much more than that. Our last two bill were right at 3000 gallons as bill was $32.13. Very happy with that. We are on the end of a mile and 1/4 line so the line don't get refreshed every month. About once a year they stop by and will flush the line.
Looks like Aaron wins the cheapest water bill contest! Mine works out to be about 12 bucks per 1000 gallons. There is a monthly "admin" charge of $7.50 and a "well/tank" surcharge of $1.55 on top of the actual water total. There was no initial fee here.My water is 7 dollars a thousand gallons. Plus whatever the initial fee is.
No sewer. I wish they would put it in though.
You have a price schedule for several years, Aaron! That's pretty nice!7.69 per 1000.View attachment 95787
Water in a shop is great. I have none in my little garage. Dad never put water in his either! It’s nice just to wash your hands!
My buddy has a little hose to rinse his cars off in the winter.
That is a good idea, Rog, did a similar thing when the well would flood. HF stainless steel pump and a 140' of 1-1/2" hose out to the ditch in front of the house. That used to happen every wet spring. They permanently shut off the irrigation ditch a mile north of us and that problem went away. EPA figured out it contributed to pollution in Rapid Creek a half mile south! 3-400 septic tanks in between the ditch and the creek.Run your drain to a sump and pump it to the septic tank or where ever you want it to go. Those pumps are not that expensive and last a good time normally.
When we had the problem I mentioned above, Aaron, that certainly would have happened here too if floor drains would have been dug in without hooking to a sewer. Would have been expensive to add a backflow preventor too as I would have had to bust out the floor to do it. Then there is no slope in the concrete either. We used every penny we had available in 1991 to build this shop and there wasn't enough budget left to do any more.I don’t have a floor drain in my little garage either….
When we did dad’s garage we did do a big center floor drain. Sadly during the flood it worked the opposite way! Water shots up through the floor drain like a geyser!
After the 2004 flood we added a check valve to keep water from back flowing….it worked last year when his back yard flooded. Nothing came up into the garage.
Got the water valving installed on the hydrant and the sink back in place.

DAC, I had to look at that first pic a couple of times because it looked like you put your water pipe right in the door way.Looks like your making great progress.
It is a pretty good vise yet, John, but not a Wilton. I think it might be a HF. Was in the scrap trailer at work because one mount ear got broke off. I welded it back on and it worked fine. Got 2 decent vises on my welding table. A Wilton and a German one I forget the name of. Both 6".The black vise on the top right looks nice and solid Doug. Is it a Wilton?
