Any Advise???

My wife has a 2019 Toyota Prius. She went to get it serviced and of course they found something wrong.
I had told her not to do anything extra without running it passed me.
The service manager explained that the hybrid cars use the hybrid system for much of their barking and because of this the inner pad had frozen up and was wearing the rotor unevenly. They want to replace the pads and turn the rotors for a fee of $419.00. Does this sound reasonable?

It sounds reasonable with the cost of labor now days. Good pads are $65-90. My concern would be what caused the inner pad to freeze up, sounds like a caliper slide pin may have froze up.

I just spent $765 for (x2 of everything)) rotors, calipers, pads and hoses on a Ford Focus. So its not sounding real bad to me..
Way I look at it its got to be fixed..

make sure you lube those sliders..those are factory rotors so premium quality. Most shops replace rotors with cheap rotors…turning rotors is about $35 each in my area.

A lot of shops around here won't turn rotors any more calling it a "liability" issue. That price is probably par in this day and age, Rich.
