Just joined not long ago, and been reading some of yalls excellent post and figured I'd join in. I'm not sure if this would go here or on farm equipment but someone will let me know I'm sure if it not right place.
Well a series of events has left me with out anything to mow with so I had to come up with something. My 64 4000 ford has came down with Pto problems, and 484 international is away on the last cutting of hay on another property. And my 306 wood mower I've been using on a friend's ca just ate the belt. Left me with a good running b allis and a 5 ft finish mower. The ca came to me as a non runner and I was charged with getting it running. After getting it running I found out he was hoping I would just buy it, well that wasn't part of my plan it has the allis troble of jumping out of 2nd gear so it was more of a project than i wanted, and iv already had enough project so i keep it most of the summer and mowed with it as part of payment for getting it running. Know he has traded it off and as I said it just ate my belt. So it's leaving and I didn't really fell like having to get another belt for the belly mower and putting it back on my b so this is what I came up with.

The total cost of this project was 30 dollars and about 2hr of fab work. The stick if pipe came from a local machine shop for 10 bucks and two small Cleves for 9 bucks a peace. I came up with this design so it could be taking off easily so it can still be used as a 3pt when I get the 4000 fixed or the 484 shows back up. I mowed with it today and it worked very well. I think it should have something running to one arm to the other for a stabilizer, but as prof of concept I think it's pretty good.
I'm not a fabricator but for a fast and dirty solution I'm happy with it maybe it last me the rest of the year. Guys let me know what you think. I'm pretty proud of it for an old country boy lol.
Thanks for another great place to talk tractors. Wil
