Bad news.

Hope the rebuild goes good for you Noel.
No other major damage to one that blew ? (block, cylinder)

A little piece broke out of the bottom of the cylinder Bill. And I don’t think it would bother it if it was rebuilt.

As long as the rings don't come down that far it will be ok, I know a number of guys have rebuilt engine with a small chunk like that knocked out > Have you gotten all the snow moved as needed, I still have not done anything at my shop in town been to cold but tomorrow its suppose to get into the mid 20"s will hit it hard then

Just starting on my deck Gary. Shoulda shoulda done it yesterday !!!! Warmed up over nite and its soaking wet. Like shoveling stones. And the snowblower won’t do nuthin to move it. Just drives up on top. And I knew and know better. Shoulda done it yesterday. Any way the temperature is dropping so it will freeze. Be easier to shovel and blower might work. Trouble will be the stuff on the bottom.
Got every thing else done.

That snow looks like it set up good. Maybe you could cut it into squares and build an Igloo. ;) When that freezes up you'll need a stump grinder to remove it.

Well I finished the deck. If I could of shoveled smooth, I'd have a nice ice skating rink. As I'd shovel the bottom off, the water would freeze. Now I have to move the stuff I threw on the ground. Which will be even harder. John Deere will be going here in a few minutes.

Picture of the stuff John Deere has to move. You can see the mud where she was spining a bit.

Hehe, forgot to mention the heated seat. Nice and warm

Kinda like a light bulb Doug. Ya never know when it going to go out. Hehe.
Any way. Have a kit ordered for a 14hp engine that we have. But be three weeks before it gets here. We have some 14’s that have short crankshafts. Must of been generator engines or some different application. May take the 12 crank and put it in one of those 14’s and see if that will run for the time being.
Any way. Will still be looking for a 16 hp k341 engine. Ya need hp to blow snow in my experience. Ya the other smaller engines have there place. Yard work, stuff like that. Snow blowing. You need hp. And in my case, if I had a 20 hp engine to put on the Ford. That’s what I’d do. I believe that would be the answer. The Case 224, 14 hp k321 will cut grass like any thing and not lose revs. Had it out in the snow yesterday, with the 4’ snowthrower, ya way under powered. Just my take on it.
About how much money would that engine be Doug, you put in the MF 12. Don’t know if they make a 15 hp or not. I might consider that the next time the light bulb goes out. Hehe.
The Ford has a 42” snow blower. It should have a 17.5 hp motor to run it. At a minimum.

Yeah I guess any mechanical thing is a "light bulb"! The price is about a hundred bucks more now than when my wife and kids bought the one in the 12G.

You must mean short crank on the pto end? Mine has a splined hub bolted to the flywheel for the driveshaft.

I ordered a rebuild kit today too. Should be here within 10 days.

Don't sound like I would have anything with enough power for snowblowing then anyway as the 14 hp Kohler is the most I have!

The piles close to the deck can stay for sure. But I have to make a track to the propane tank so it can get filled. If I don’t clear a path, they won’t fill it. Every thing safety now a days. Jumpins when I was doing that job we use to have to take a shovel with ya and drag the hose. Shovel to find the tank. Amazing how times have changed.
