Hi all, I bought a Case Ingersoll 446 this week have not gotten it home my neighbor and friend found it while buying some Simplicity's and asked if I was interested in it has been sitting out for a couple of years has a deck its suppose to be a 60" and while gathering up the deck etc they found a snowblower for it the fellow want $500.00 for the tractor and deck and another $50.00 for the blower but its missing the discharge chute and my friend said it wasn't worth 50 so the guy said $10.00 and I said yes that's good. He may find the chute he is kind of a salvage yard parts scattered everywhere so this next week I should get rid of this darn cast on my arm and a Ingersoll to check out

I have always liked those, but have never seen one in person. I like the idea of hydraulic drive for impliments..... and I like the carrying on of a great name.
Congratulations on your find!

well look what showed up at the shop this afternoon

Hi, well this morning just before the rain I got the 446 in the shop checked it over some removed the aircleaner and the carb looks good just looking down into it, the oil looks good on the dipstick and its on the full mark so I pulled the plugs to look at them they were sooted but otherwise good cleaned and tested them, cracked the engine over with the plugs out it had compression on both cylinders so reinstalled the plugs squirted some gas down the car and cranked it over took a little cranking but it started so I kept squirting gas in and it ran for a bit sounded good, so now its to clean the fuel system and see if the fuel pump will get gas to the carb. it needs a good power wash may try to do that this afternoon. Looked up the SN and per the chart its a 1984 model other say its a 1985 as it has Ingersoll decals so what ever its a 84/85

Gary I'm using the same blower on my Kubota. That is all they had for a chute. I believe they were made in N. Dakota.
I did extend mine with some plastic from the side of a barrel. If you increase the drive sprocket by 2 teeth they will really eat the snow. You stole that machine you dog. :D

Hi, actually with the temps and humidity we have right now that looks refreshing but about 2 2 1/2 months ago it would have been down right disgusting. Tried to get gas to flow / pump from the tank to the carb this afternoon no luck if I pressurized the tank gas would come out of the hose at the fuel pump but the pump would not get any installed a new electric pump nothing so there is a problem either at the tank outlet or in the hose so tomorrow will try to remove the tank and install new gas hose. Cleaned the carb and hooked up a temp tank and the engine runs good so I tried driving it a bit in the shop it moves forward and back but the motion control lever will not stay in a set position

Could be a friction resist adjustment some where for the lever. I have to adjust mine on the JD 140 every now and then. If not it creeps faster and faster.

Hi, removed the gas tank found the reason for no gas flow the hose was kinked it was fairly new hose and the fitting in the tank bottom was metal I was advised to remove the plastic fitting if it was still there and installed a metal one anyway when the tank was push back in place the hose got kinked and suppose when it was new gas would flow but with time the kink got tighter and shut off the gas anyway new hose from the tank to the carb and its good started the engine and I noticed a stream a gas squirting out the hose going to the carb hadn't replaced it yet wanted see if all was working new hose there and its running good took it out for a test drive and its good.

Hi Noel, not sure happened but its working as it should got on it to test drive it this afternoon and it didn't want to shift then I remembered you have to push down on the lever to move it (it being in the up position locks it in neutral) so when I pushed it down and moved it it worked as it should I think it may have been stuck half way between up and down probably from sitting

Ran the 446 out in front of the shop used the Power King and loader lift the front of the 446 up about 3+ feet and got the underside power washed its not perfect but its a lot cleaner, blew off as much excess water as I could then started it up and drove around a bit thought I'd shift the transmission into Hi-range to see how that worked didn't work so well the darn linkage disconnected and the trans was in neutral could get it to shift by hand so lucky it was only 60 ft from the shop door went and got a couple of wrenches and got it reassembled and it works good now
