Brought Home a Farmall H

I towed my "new to me" Farmall H home today. It belonged to my cousin who lives next door to our farm so it was a short trip. Had to make a second trip to get the engine, rad, and other misc. parts. The serial number is 189xxx which looks to be a 1945 model and has an X5 suffix which is a 5000-foot altitude tractor. It has a high compression head with pop-up pistons. I'll work on this project as time and money allow.

That should make a strong H when you get it up and running with that high compression engine.

Nice straight looking sheet metal on it, even has fenders so often missing on H and M's for some reason.

My Uncle bought this tractor with a hole in the side of the block when it threw a rod. He found a couple used engines and took the best parts to rebuild for this tractor.

I have an H but it is far down on the list to work on.

Same here, kenny, pulling a 5 disc one way plow. The kind you pull the rope to engage the lift and then pull it again to drop it.

Actually it's a Fordson Dexta Diesel. 1960 I think.

Back in the day that was a great farm tractor that was overlooked by many.

I believe the Ford Dextra didn't go over well was due to dealers support and being an import
the super was made 1962 to 1964.

I'll go as far as I have to. Hopefully I don't need to go that far, but if you go looking for trouble you you just might find it.

We had this HF shelter sitting around so I thought I would use it to park the H in for now. Had to clear a spot for it beside the shop.
