Dad was using the Case IH 485 with the Du-Al backhoe to clear the culverts under the wood-chip Lane on the farm several days ago. the last one he was working on isn't cleared yet. Well, he left it parked in the low area and with all of the rain it is now sitting in a large puddle. Now the weather has turned cold and with no glow plugs the 485 will not start. Today I grabbed a generator and extension cord, threw it in the Gator, and headed up to get it started. It took 15-20 minutes of run time with the block heater plugged in to get it fired up. The tractor is now parked at the barn where it can be plugged into an outlet when it gets cold. The high temp was 39*F today.
