Craftsman GT6000 not running good

With a slight chance of snow tonight and tomorrow I thought I should get the blower mounted up. Fired the tractor up and it ran ok at WOT. As I slowed it down it ran worse and worse until it would die just above idle unless the choke was pulled out about 2/3rds of the way. Pulled the bowl off the carb and found a little water and rust sediment. Cleaned it out and fired it back up and with a little adjustment its running good again. I'll mount the blower this afternoon.

Next up was the Yanmar 1510D. My nephew was using it and ran it out of fuel last week. Tried putting fuel in last week but it wouldn't go. I wasn't sure of the bleeding procedure, so I looked it up last night. It's pretty straight forward with 2 bleed screws at the filter housing, one bleeder at the injector pump, and then crack the lines on the injectors. I just did the bleed screws and gave it a try. It sputtered a few times, then nothing for about 4-5 revolutions, then some smoke and away it went. Got lucky and didn't need to bleed the injector lines.

And the final project was a sprayer that was drained but never got winterized. Used a heat gun to warm the pump and melt some ice on the pickup tube. Warmed all of the lines for about 15 minutes and gave it a try. It started pumping the RV antifreeze through the recirculation system then I ran the nozzles and wand. It appears to be OK with no breaks or leaks.

Got the snowblower mounted and drove the tractor from the barn to the house. Just a 1/4-mile trip over the field and thru the woods. That should take care of any chance of snow but just in case, it's ready. Took the sunset and cloud pics 24 hours apart. Sunset yesterday and clouds moving in tonight.

Fun fun....
8" of snow and 30° .........Not fun !
Might be heavy I'm assuming...
Just got in from blowing snow and it was a little heavy but not as bad as I was expecting. Measured 10" on the back deck. I did shred a belt but had the main driveway cleared. I don't remember if I have a spare or not. If I do, I won't find it until I buy a new one.

Don't worry about it, CJet, it was worth every penny to ship it your way---LOL! We did get a half inch of that crap today though. Was still a better trade off! Hope you aren't getting the ice I have seen pics of in places out your way.

No Ice here yet. I guess south of Olympia is where they are getting most of it and probably Portland Oregon.

Is a 10" snow a lot for you guys..?
Its a pretty good snowfall for us. Last year we had a 14" snowfall which is a lot for here. My parents talk about early March 1950 when they got 30+ inches. I can only remember a couple more times when we had 16" and 19" snowfall. Usually, we get 2 or 3 snowfalls a year at a trace to 5 or 6 inches. Then we get years with no measurable snowfall.

Took a few snapshots from video I shot while blowing snow. Need to get the video edited down to where I can upload it in less than 12 hours.

It did better than I thought it would on this snow. The snow was kind of a medium wet but it did work the blower pretty hard so I had to keep the speed down. The belt let go when I was re-clearing the slushy crud that the state snowplow threw into the driveway entrance.
Doesn't look like you are covered with snow while operating it either, CJet! Must have been very little wind.
