Does this help? It’s on a 149, but should be the same as a 1250. I can get more pics if needed.

this one has a long spring
According to the parts lookup they used two different springs. I didn’t know that. Here’s a link if you haven’t seen it: Lookup Parts Via Diagram | Cub Cadet US. I’ll look at my 1450 and see if that has the longer one.
My 1450 has the longer spring, here’s some pics. The last two are from behind the tractor, the others are from the top.
