Dedicated Tractor

How many on here have a tractor that you only use for one thing?

I have one for mowing. I leave the deck on year around
One for snow blowing. blower has been on since I've owned it.
A Satoh Beaver diesel with a loader and blade on. Blade stays on as it is a nice counter weight.
As a backup I have a Iseki / Bolens 17 hp diesel with a cab, mower deck and a snowblower. This is a bit to big where I live now.
I'm thinking about down sizing.

My MF7 and Ford YT16H have decks and are used mainly for mowing, but they may also haul a cart or the estate rake, all my other tractors do multiple jobs. Ground plow, disks, cultivators, tillers, loader, snow plow, snow thrower, snow blower, box blade and mowing decks.

Have a 1512 Cub with 50" deck for mowing. Acquired a 42" snow thrower for it this year so may put that on after the mowing season. Bolens H16XL with front blade that stays on year around. Bolens G16XT with self powered tiller. Bolens G12 with ground plow, mainly a plowing tractor. QT16 with 48" deck that needs a little attention, runs rough. Few others that get used for what ever off and on. Most all tractor run so can get something mounted on someone if the need arises.

I am one tractor kinda guy. I have a tractor that can do everything I need it to do.
Those are in no particular order

Cut Grass
Pull a wagon
Roto-till garden
Cultivator garden
Box Blade dirt around
Drive me to neighbors house for a beer
Look pretty
Start every time

I guess I qualify as the owner of a tractor for each task. Seemed like a good excuse to own more tractors but along with that comes a lot more maintenance. So sometimes I wonder if mine was a good choice. If your physically able to switch implements all the time then two tractors would be the economical way to go. One with a loader and the other for attachments.

Need one with a front bucket, one with front forks, One with manure or brush forks, one with grapple, One for three point implements. One for sleeve hitch. Don

My Fords are great but a pain to change attachments. Maybe it’s cuz I’m old too. One Ford I keep the tiller on all the time, the other two I rotate summer and winter with mower and blade. And last one is blower and scoop bucket
i also have a JD STX that I just mow with

I have 1 with a loader on it,
another that is setup just for pulling events (play tractor),
another that is a do all, summer/winter,
and another that is going to be a grass cutter/trailer puller.

With the collection I have accumulated I try and use a different one each year so they all stay in good operable condition, one year I'll let a machine take a break from mowing/ blowing / tilling duties and use one of the other ones .

JD 110 with 43 blade for dirt work, has Brinly hitch on the back, also pulls the 80 cart. 212, dedicated mower tractor with bagger and a front mounted thatcher. 216, tiller and sweepster tractor. 316, snow blower and Brinly rear blade. 420, 54 blade with extensions, black boar rear blade and a Alz welding load lifter. I use them all pretty equally.

JD GT235 for cutting grass ,leaf collecting and snow blowing
JD 210 also for cutting grass been using it more to cut the two elderly neighbors yards. Plow mounted on from in Winter.
67 JD 112 with tiller mounted .
The others are retired but may put a few back to work and leave the plow and snow blower on permanently.

right now I have 4 Ariens (well 3 Ariens and 1 NH) and I have a deck on the NH, a 2 stage snow blower on my original GT19. a snow plow on the S16H, and my 2nd GT19 came with a rear mount tiller. I have 3 decks, so all could be set up that way at once.
Only the 2 GT19s have rear PTOs so they are the only ones I can use the tiller with (most recent one back to running cond but have hydro linkage issues at the moment) My wife somehow don't want me to sell the NH, I don't want to sell my original GT19 because it has P/S. only tractor I have ever had with that. IF I sold one my S16H would be most expendable at the moment. could come with snow plow and/or mower deck.
Ideally I should probably get down to 2 but what is the fun there? at the moment the S16H is serving as my mule to move my utility trailer and popup camper around when needed. but can do that with any of them. All are at the house right now, except the GT19 that has the snow blower mounted.

that don't count the Cub 129 or the Woods ZTR. of which I am looking for a hydro motor for..... if nothing pops up soon that one is getting its motor yanked and being sent on its way. I have had that one longest of all. about 12 years and have mowed ALOT of grass with it most of it for other people. I love that mower, unless I get on a sidehill. then, it is about worthless.
