Delcoremy generator reconditioning

Hi,

I have a delcoremy generator (i believe it's an airplane model not an tractor model) that i would love to recondition for my miniature train project.
I'm in Australia and it is hard to find info or parts down here.
I have found some good info on this forum to get started but am looking for some parts, mainly new brushes.
Does any one have the delcoremy books stating the part numbers for brushes for generator number #1105040, 24v 50a.
This would be much appreciated
 
I found it listed as a 15SI series alternator. That might make finding parts easier.

Looks like the Brush kit # is - 1975323 (that is an obsolete part number)

I looked on EBAY only to see a picture of the kit - To me it looks like a standard set of GM brushes.

Locally we have a repair shop that rebuilds alternators and starters, Auto Electric and Automotive Repair in Somerset, PA | K & D Auto Electric . If you have a local much older mechanic, they might be able to steer you towards a parts supplier.

You should double check everything I have found. I hope this helps you get started in the right direction. Good luck.
 
Found this information in one of the books I have access to and it does not show the specific number you claim to have - might want to reverify the number on the tag as the picture you posted does not show a clear picture of the tag #. If it is correct then I would suggest sending Delco Remy an email with pictures of the tag and see if they have any information on the unit.

Hi.
I have that page to and my number is on there. 4th one from the bottom.
I have emailed delcoremy a few times but never a reply .
Now the next thing for me to find is spec#3340 which should have all the part numbers including the brushes.
 
Thank you for posting a clear picture of the tag number - 1105054 is what I see.
The original post shows a number of 1105040 - this may explain why it shows up as an alternator #.

The 1105054 is shown in the page I posted as a generator and also shows up on the Standard Motor Products website in their unit parts guide.
Unit Part Guide
This is a break down of parts that Standard made for the automotive aftermarket to fit starters, generators alternators and distributors - originally it was offered in paper back years ago but they have now added access to it on their website. You can enter a number from the unit (starter, generator, etc) and it will show any parts that may be available for the unit that Standard does or did offer.
If I enter the unit number 1105054 it shows the brush set as Standard # RX59 and an image as shown below - does this look correct?

If it is then the number can be entered on the number search portion of the website and more information can often be found such as this - gives a thickness and width and more pictures to help identify the part to verify it is correct.

The RX59 can also be entered in the interactive buyers guide that is on their site and located using the search feature to obtain some more information as shown below

A close up reveals possible other OE numbers that would be the same and what applications it might be found in - this was mainly to help identify what items might be popular and suggested stocking at a garage back years ago when units were repaired rather than replaced.
In this case I would think the OE Delco # for an equivalent brush set might be 1906974 or 1906931 - the other numbers appear to be Autolite or Prestolite but not sure. Hope this helps you and others in their quest for repair parts for electrical units.

Yes - # 1105054 is on the page I posted but the number posted in the original post is not 1105054 - it is 1105040 if my eyes are reading the screen correctly. Please see my other post for brush set information for 1105054 that may help you.
