I figure we will find many of the “green” items aren’t so great for the environment.
The first time I drove up I-39 at night and seeing those red lights, I though it was an ALIEN INVASION. The red lights were just hovering in the sky. It was totally freaky to see for the very first time. Those wind farms are the largest in my socialistic state IL. They boast of over 200 units. Glad they are 1 hour to the south. All that power feeds Chicago. Nothing around here.Lot of questions about this. Is this SF6 a gas, dust, noise ? ? What part of the wind tower emits this SF6 ? Where does it actually originate from, part of the build process, the movement of the generator etc.? Like Chris closest wind farm is about 35 miles away. Looks kind of neat to see all the red lights blinking in unison.
And all of ours goes into the "grid" and goes West so Ca can have their EV vechicles. The first time I drove up I-39 at night and seeing those red lights, I though it was an ALIEN INVASION. Been browsing some more ideas for a center rod interface to the stationary platform. The insane winds here requires durability. Something like this is beefy enough, yet $94 ???The bearings I picked up from surplus are the general NSK 60060U. Got a 12 pack.

Should my blade system be tall and narrow, these bearings would help.
Never thought about that but seems like a belt pulley from a deck would be be a good choice and better price too. In my basket of odd parts, I have a belt pulley from my old Craftsman DYT4000 deck. I wonder . . .
