Do you balance your blades?

I usually put my pocket knife in a vise & balance it on the blade. Seems to work for me. Don’t really know if it’s nessacery, but it can’t hurt.

I use a flap disc and then use a file to get a real sharp edge

I do not want a razor sharp edge. A razor sharp edge is a thin edge and will damage much quicker resulting in blade loss. Just a decent edge is all I want. After all, I am cutting grass, not shaving with it.

I check the balance of mine with one of those cone balancers if not too far off let them go if way off I add wt some blade have an extra hole in them if not I drill a hole and use a 1/4 " bolt
