Finally, I got the wheel off

Picture of a can of anti-seize my father had. A little in it but dried up. I keep it because it has interesting directions on it. You’d almost be shot nowadays it you did this. Hehe.

A little farther. Got the axles and wheels cleaned up and the non leaking tire side back on.
Now what I thought was going to be easy with my stick and truck to break the beads on the tire and wheel, won’t work. Set wheel and tire, wheel side down, on ground, put stick on tire to the edge of wheel, drive truck up on stick, break the bead, but no. Not working.
How do you fellas break beads on these tires. Normally my method works, but not today.

Yup. If they don't slide right off when I take the clip off I don't bother trying to get the rim off. I've ruined too many of that style in the process then at that point that leaves no choice but to get destructive and get it off regardless of "how" because the wheel is then "shot" and absolutely has to come off so it can be changed. I've spun many of those on with the wheel still in place.

Modified a old mower blade. Took 15 minutes to do that, tried the new tool, worked first try. Less than a minute to break bead. Jumpins all afternoon and part of the morning at this tire. So I’ll modify the other end of the blade same as the end I just did. Somebody cut off some of the blade for some reason, so from the hole it’s longer one way than the other. And I’ll drill a few inch holes in the leg of the bench, to put the bar into and I’ll have adjustment for different widths of tires. Jumpins. What a day. Was hoping to have this done by noon time and tractor put away. Then was gunna finish plowing gardens. Oh well. That’s what happens.

Use gasoline to clean parts! I still do with small stuff sometimes---LOL! Glad your mower blade bar did the trick, Noel!

Simply Amazing, as Harry Woo would say on Get Smart, I finally finished the tire repair and tractor is put away for winter.
Tire was full of rust from the wheel. Cleaned tire out and cleaned up rim, put the tube in, anti-seized the shaft, wheel and bolt, same as I did with the other side. Put some stablizier in the gas and filled the oil. Deck is good, hardly any grass builds up in this deck. Yet some of my other decks get full. Any way 2.5 hours or so today to get where I’m at. Good thing I don’t have to pay somebody to do this stuff. Hehe.
