Got the Case 222 into the shop

Well the 222 is ready to have the deck installed in a week or so its running good, only thig I can't seem to over come is that the throttle wants to creep down as you drive, on other tractors I've removed the throttle bracket and give the pivot rivet a wack or two with a hammer to tighten it up but on the darn Case you can't get at it without half dissembling the tractor I've been trying to crimp the casing with a vice-grips and that may have helped a little

Nice looking worker Gary. I’ve crimped the throttle cable housing slightly at the carb area before with good results. Make sure it’s as close to the carb as you can or it will bow up in the more slack area.

After dinner I'm going to run the PK back to the shop and remove the bagger and them bring it and the 222 back out here and use the 222 on the trailer to pickup the dump piles and try it on other garden jobs around here kind of a trial run

Your right Gary, 400 Cases are hard to get on and off of. But I find most of my 11 tractors are hard to get on and off. Plus my Ferguson tractor. A lot of the older small farm tractors were hard to get on and off of.
Just my opinion.

Put the 222 to work this afternoon and it done good put an hour on after my Tea here I'll check to see how much oil it went thru, pulled the trailer like it wasn't there then I hooked up to the spring tooth digger couldn't set it too deep as without wheel wts it just spun but got it set so it would pull and still did some digging and it worked good other than losing traction a bit it went

Good news this morning after working the 222 for over an hour the oil level was good, the dipstick is really hard to get at on this engine and even harder to read, it located in the block next to the cylinder and you have to reach down between the cylinder and the exhaust pipe to get to it. I'm looking / watching for a dipstick that is on the cam gear cover these were used on some Cub Cadets and Case tractor if anyone has one on an old engine and wants to part with it I may be interested

Any pictures of those two locations Gary. Can’t say I ever seen one on the cam gear cover.

Here's one Noel, this one from a Cub Cadet, the case one had a filler tube on the cover. This one is listed on ebay but the price is $29.99 to much for this guy, but I came up with an idea this afternoon I added a 6" extension to the OEM dipstick and that gets it above the cyl head and exhaust pipe, pretty sure that will work
