As you can tell from the title, I finally scored my very own homemade tractor. I am happy to report that it sat for 10 years and in two hours of tinkering I was driving it around the yard lol.
Engine is 1940s Contintental / IH power unit
Transmission is 1930s Dodge 3 speed
Axle is 1950s or 1960s Pontiac or Oldsmobile
Front tires are 4.80-8
Overall length is a shade under 9 feet
Rear tires are 8.00-15
Width is 66 inches exactly (soon to replace rear wheels and tires in order to fit my Butler trailer which is 65-1/2 inches wide lol)
Operator controls require an overhaul. The seat is an unstable house chair. The clutch is awkward to apply. And it had three brake pedals, none of which control both brakes at one time. Oh, and exposed drive chains near the feet arent exactly ideal.
Anyone have any idea what it might have been built for? The PO said he bought it in Eastern PA about 8 years ago and never did anything with it.
