Hi folks,
Well, I just bought this Husqvarna 582559901 mulch kit for my TS348XD lawn tractor. I am just sitting scratching my head trying to figure it out. First of all, as I look at the mulching blades that came with the kit, do not look like mulching blades but then again, I am not sure. I have taken & attached 2 photos of the blades comparing them to the OEM blades that I just took off the tractor. What do y'all think? I have also attached a photo of the contents of the 582559901 mulch kit. I'm not sure as to how to attach the two containment plates to the mower yet. I thought that the kit would be just new blades and a discharge cover but that's not the case. Do I even need those containment plates. I just want to much leaves not leave on all year. I have search for videos on how to install this but can't find any YouTube videos or anywhere else and the instruction page isn't much help. Anything help or guidance by anyone would surely help. Thank you!

I googled that number and one place that came up was Amazon. On there you should find some videos that different people made installing them. Also (sometimes) they have a PDF file you can download. Just got to scratch around a little bit till you find the one you're after.

You can leave all on but you can taker off the chut caver for mowing. My first mulch kit had parts to line the deck but the last one was just blades and cover.
Thanks SimplyRad for answering me. Are you saying I can install the blades and mulch cover ( covering the discharge chute) and that I don't need to install the two piece steel containment plates? Thank you.

Thanks for the reply 4getgto. I did go on Amazon as you suggested but unfortunately I did not find any videos.

I think you will get better result using the containment parts. I didn't get those parts with my current ZT.

As for the containment plates I installed them and leave them on all the time like you posted I only mulch in the fall like now to grind up the leaves and I don't change my blades just use my regular mowing blades work fine for leaves.

Hi MNGB, I bought the mulch kit as I mentioned on my earlier post. I installed the blades that came with the kit ( Those blades did not look like the gator mulching blades that I used with my old riding mower) I contacted Oregon and they told be that they do not make the gator blades for my new riding mower. As of now I am using the blades that came with the kit. I installed the discharge chute cover but I have not installed those steel containment plates yet. I will if I can figure out how the heck they are to be installed. If you can point me in the right direction as to how to install them, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I looked thru my files I guess I never took any pictures when I installed the plates, but once you remove the deck and turn it over it should be apparent how the install. The lager one attaches on the LH forward part of the deck you'll seel how the bolt holes line up, good luck

Thanks MNGB, I guess I was trying to install the plates without the hassle of removing the mower deck.

I’ve dealt with mulch kits before, and it can be a bit confusing at first. The blades in the kit might look different, but as long as they're designed for mulching, they should do the job. The containment plates are usually necessary for proper mulching; they help keep the grass and leaves circulating so they can chop up finer.

Check if your mower has specific slots or brackets where the plates attach—sometimes they just bolt on in a couple of spots. You might find some helpful tips in lawn care forums or by searching for your model specifically, as there are usually some DIY enthusiasts who’ve posted their experiences.
