Glad you are getting ready for whatever the winter brings.

Belt is installed took it out for a test run and its running right had it down on the grass and picked up a few leaves and they came out where they were suppose to, then got the winter cab installed, will wait a couple of weeks to put the chains on

If everything is ready for $n@w, maybe you won't need to use them---LOL! It's inevitable up here, but I would still prefer more rain and less of that stuff, Gary!

Very cool tractor, and I definitely like the craftsman cab you adapted to it!

Hehe. Maybe if you get all the $&@# Gary, I won’t get any. Hehe.
Nice looking tractor set up.
I’ve got 3 ready. One more to go. Then my son has one to do. It’s sorta a major project. Frame engine mount needs welding. Figuring on type of engine mounts. Engine blew up last January. I fixed up another engine , but just getting to start putting it back in the tractor next weekend. Blower has to be installed. Tractor and blower need service.

We got about 2" of snow early this morning so I thought I'd run the PK with the blower on it out and see if everything would work made 2 pass's going good coming back went to check that I had full throttle and the engine went to idle run the throttle lever up and down nothing so I slowly idled back into the shop tipped the hood up and looked sure enough the throttle cable came out of the cable barrel / fastener, about a 3 minute job to fix but you can't get at it without removing the hood and grill that's an hour or more so that's what I'll be doing this afternoon. Glad I found it now and not when there was a foot of snow

I was out blowing snow yesterday afternoon things were going good and then at some time (not sure when) the lift cable connection broke didn't know it and I went off a bit of a drop the blower dropped down and dug into the ground front of the tractor raised up not good but lucky no real damage busted the V belt. Repaired the lift connection looking to see if I have an A82 belt in the shop to install

New belt installed lift hooked up ready to give it a go this afternoon, I'm going to redesign the lift cable connection when I get a chance have and idea that will work and be a stronger connection

Boy is it cold here today, took the PK and blower out and gave it a workout in 6+in of snow it made the Kohler 14 hp grunt but didn't stop it and the snowcaster was casting really moving the snow, I'm happy with it. Tomorrow I'll upgrade the lift assy and then it'll be good for the winter.

Sounds like you had a good day Gary. Just wondering , how far do you think it was throwing the snow ? My two casters don’t throw to far. The Case 224 is not quite as good as the Case 446.

Noel
I'm not sure Noel maybe 10-15 ft, I'd say about 1/2 as far as the dual stage on the Husqvarna, likewise Chris I don't think the 14 hp Kohler could handle a sprocket change, I've been thinking about increasing the length of the discharge spout, did you tell me that helped some?
Yes overall it was a satisfying day

Well that’s about the same distance as my two casters Gary. I guess that’s the way they are. I really believe that the trouble with them not throwing far is the chute open is to big. It’s 8”. All my other ones are 6”. My John Deere 140H3 tractors thrower, model 49 I believe, is basically made the same as the Case casters and it throws better than the casters. And it’s only a 6” chute opening.
