It’s for sale in my area. Was just wondering. I not interested in it. But patio tractors would be very rare in my area, I would think.
112 is the number.

Noel.

If that's the actual serial number, it comes up as a standard green and yellow 112 on Weekend Freedom Machines registry, so a fake.

There is a picture of the rating plate. But the picture is not so good. So I’m guessin that’s why it’s been put on paper. But who knows.

Noel.

Thanks. I thought it was fake.

Here's the TO #'s for a 112:
112 (T0654M, T0655M, T0656M, T0658M)

That's odd, WFM list all but one 112 as green and yellow, but in the registry that have pictures of them with patio colors. Guess the only way to truly tell is strip the paint in a area and see if there's another color under it. The 'chase" for patio colors is a bit crazy to me, never got into it. I'm more into features, like hydraulic or electric lift, and engine choices.

Being it's a 1969 it's hard to tell because JD used the same type numbers as the green and yellow tractors. If it's been restored, they should have photo documentation prove it was originally a Custom Color tractor. Does he have a picture of the seat pan? It should be stamped out of a textured metal not smooth. I would look it over really hard to prove it was truly a Custom Color tractor before buying any 1969 model

I recently acquired one of the 12hp versions, it has electric lift and electric PTO. My uncle has two 10hp 112's with hydraulic lift, one Teccy, one Kohler.

Noel, I don't think the Kohler was a replacement, JD used so many engines that they bought from both companies. Wheel Horse was the same way, they used either brand depending on who could supply their demands that year.

What they mean on tractor data I think Brian, is the standard engine is a Tecumseh, but if you wanted a kohler you could order it as an option to replace the Tecumseh.
The kohler would have a little more grunt because of the longer stroke.
But would not be a great amount.
That’s my take on it. I wait for your and other members thoughts.

Some times those companys chose the cheapest engines. Depends on the quotes for that year. I think anyway.
If a company could use different engines on there tractors, they could save a lot of money if they buy 1000 engines per year. And save what ever amount per engine. Even at $10.00 per engine, that’s a lot of money.
