Last year I put a Kohler Command 25 HP in place of the wimpy (rod knocking) Kawasaki 17 HP. I have everything working except the charging system due to the flywheel magnets are not there. They came loose and took the stator out. I have had a stator for a while, but no flywheel with magnets. Yesterday, my patience payed off as I found a donor flywheel for the magnets. This came off a Sears mower with a Kohler Courage 22 HP that was ran low on oil. I used my turkey fryer burner to heat the flywheel to remove the magnets and let them cool over night. Today I will bring the 265 in and pull the flywheel off it and glue the magnets on it. Not sure yet if I'll use JB Weld or 2 part epoxy. I'll have some pics later today. Here's a few of the repower:

I cleaned the old glue off the magnets while it was raining. Came off easily with 60 grit sand paper since I heated them to take off.

Between showers I managed some progress! Got the 265 up and pulled the flywheel. Cleaned it up and started setting the magnets in. I used JB Kwik Weld on these!

Letting it cure! Going to get a new flywheel key in just a bit!

Has an issue with it 'hunting'. I took the carb off and it needed a new accelerator pump. I found a new carb for cheaper than the kit. It's sitting here waiting for me to put it on.
This is one strong mower. Walks through tall bermuda with very little pull down on the engine.

In the above post I related to a hunting issue. I got the new carb in and swapped it out today! Runs real smooth now.
